In the country of the first people the marvelous landscapes of the Perigord Noir (Black Perigord) are situated in the southeastern part of the Dordogne Department and is surrounded by the big valleys of the Dordogne and Vezere Rivers. The name, “Perigord Noir” is in reference to the density of dark green oak trees. In this harmonious countryside we round the bends of hills and country roads to discover country castles and charming villages built of ochre colored stone with slate roofs.
